This graph shows nitrite concentration at a station in the eastern tropical Pacific with a strong oxygen minimum (20.9º N, 110º W).  Both the primary and secondary nitrite maxima are shown.  A detailed horizontal section of nitrite along 110º W from Baja California, across the equator, shows the spatial distribution of nitrite in the ocean.
