As an electrical engineer at MBARI, Eric specializes in embedded systems development. These systems span many of MBARI’s vehicle platforms and instrumentation as well. His interests circle around autonomous systems and his work lives at the intersection of hardware and software. Facilitating advanced control systems and novel low power solutions are common threads in Eric’s designs. He also contributes to the development of imaging systems for a multitude of end users at the institute and beyond. Eric’s previous experience operating ROVs, AUVs, and even developing research vessels helps guide his developments so that we can generate the best, and most accurate results that oceanographic science demands.
