This short activity allows students to visualize the negative impacts on ocean organisms as the pH of the ocean drops (ocean acidification or OA).

Students will explore recent and live data from buoys and oceanographic research vessels to explore the effects of both natural and anthropogenic factors on oceanic pH.

Students will access and interpret near real time marine data of dissolved oxygen to determine if their predictions are supported by real-world evidence.

Students will learn how to access data from GO-BGC floats in order to analyze and compare properties such as dissolved nitrates, oxygen and chlorophyll levels.
